BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE! I was honored to have been an opening night selection for the Urban Media Makers Film Festival (UMFF) but when I was informed that the doc won BEST DOCUMENTARY, I was stunned. The UMFF is a great festival and maintains an important mission. From the website:
“Media images represent the highest and most immediately recognizable commodity in the world. Media’s implied messages form the worldviews of millions.
Founded in November 2001, the mission of the Urban Mediamakers is to promote and support a diverse independent media arts community in metro-Atlanta and worldwide. Our annual signature event is the Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF), showcasing independent films with a strong emphasis of work produced by or featuring people of African, Asian and Latin descent.”
The doc was screened at the beautiful Red Clay Theatre and the festival included a full complement of screenings, parties and workshops. It is truly a comprehensive event. Many thanks to Cheryle Reynolds and everyone at the UMFF. It was a top-tier event for me and my family. See you next year!
